Okay I'm going to say it out loud - I watched all of Idol this season and my all time favorite moment was in the finale when Lionel Ritchie sang with Danny Gokey and he sang a song I'd never heard before but it caught my attention. If anyone knows the name of the song, please let me know. It wasn't the tune or the singing that had me all alert. It was the words!

Everyday I read the news paper and everyday it seems like someone else has been shot in Vancouver. Why is this happening? Why are we allowing this to happen? I grew up in the GVRD and I do not remember anyone from my childhood or teenage years being shot! Lots of guys I knew growing up got in fights and even some girls but no one ever tried to kill each other.

I am always reading about depression and how hard it is to be a new Mom but that was never an issue for me. Maybe you could blame it on my naivete but I never thought being a new Mom was hard, I guess really I never even thought about it because I was just too busy! For me the hardest stage so far is now. I am the Mom of a fourteen year old daughter who looks like she is seventeen.
