Overly connected to my daughter

I am in a very depressive mood lately, in part because my daughter is growing up.  She is fourteen and we have always had a very close relationship.  I know she has her own life and I am trying to let her go out on her own.  She have a very good solid foundation and I trust she will make the right decisions.  I don't know how to handle this separate as she is the only one I

Oprah and the Chocolate Cookies

A lifetime ago, I co-owned and ran a popular French Bakery on Fidalgo Island. Those were days of much activity, many faces, frantic schedules and not near enough time to sit and reflect. It strikes me as bizarre how hard we have worked as women to get ahead and be respected only to have an entire generation of young women fall right back into the pattern of "if I don't have a relationship I am not whole".

The other day in the paper there were these cute photographs of these sweet looking little green monkeys! Through science we have been able to make these little monkeys a rather bizarre shade of green and the little monkeys also glow in the dark? WHY is this helpful to us or the little monkeys?

Laugh More - Look Younger - Live Longer

Getting old is no laughing matter - literally. Adults on average laugh 15 times while children laugh 400 times. That's 25 giggles and guffaws for every hour they are awake!!!
