Here we are in what Pix and I affectionately like to refer to as the 'Real New Year' - a time of new beginnings. As kids and adults head back to school or return to work after summer holidays, there is a feeling of a fresh start. It's a time of year when I'm struck by how much our children have grown and reminded how quickly time flies by.

Just wanted to share this great image I tripped across on a blog called The Threadbare Gypsy Soul - great name. I think there's a bit of gypsy soul in all of us. Anyway this pic made me smile.

I recently came across an article in the news paper titled Why aren't women happy? I was immediatly drawn to this article because upon self eveluation at that exact moment I decided that I was not happy! I was not depressed, just not happy. The article was full of data and impressive opinions but was basically gibberish and I was no more happy when I finished it.

First time ever I fell under the trance of the not so real, reality show, The Bachelorette. I can't say what happened - something like a car wreck - I couldn't help but steal a peek and then another, and another.....

From Oprah to Obama to the Dalai Lama, everyone seems to agree that motherhood is one of the toughest jobs on earth. The hours are full-time plus - actually 24/7 but who's counting.

Maybe this is not an international current event but it is a current event in my life! My friend Andrea has delivered a beautiful, healthy baby girl!!! This is Andrea's third daughter and I would like to say "Way to Go Andrea"!
