Every once in a while you meet someone (or in this case two people) that have a really great idea or for that matter "mission"! When I met Dhana and Kelly the thing I was most impressed with was their sincere desire to connect with their own daughters while having fun and sharing the journey with other Moms and daughters!! That is how "Biagirl" was created.

'Be the Best' is a phrase meant to inspire; to remember. This phrase has become an anchor for a friend whose son decided way too soon, it was time to go. For his dad, this phrase personifies the type of kid he was, passionate, driven, always striving to be the best.

A friend sent this to me and it made me laugh so I thought I would share it!

I went to the Doctor for my yearly physical.

The nurse started with certain basics.

"How much do you weigh?"

"135". I said.

The nurse put me on the scale.

It turns out I weigh 180.

The nurse asked"Your height?"

I am just starting the strange journey of having some tumours removed from my breast. I refer to it as a strange journey because I can not figure out what the appropriate reaction to this is. First I was confused, then sad, then angry and now I just feel tired.

I recently went to an alternative to the Book Club. I went to a Movie Club!!!! It was great just a bunch of friends getting together and watching a movie. After we all talked about the film and what we did and did not enjoy! I left feeling happy and connected but with out the burden of having to make time to read a book I really was not interested in.

I would really like to start doing some volunteer work but I do not know where to start. Is there a list on the web of volunteer organizations that need help. I would really like to find an organization that needs help that is close to my heart and house but I am new the the neighborhood and really don't know where to start. Any suggestions?
